Faith and Hope Foundation and NYDA join forces to equip young people with skills development, information and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Youth empowerment took centre stage on Friday 10 July 2026, when the Faith and Hope Foundation, led by its founder and CEO, Mrs. Sibeko , hosted an information session at the foundation centre, Ext 23, 882 Tsunami, Garankuwa, Pretoria.
The event, held in collaboration with NYDA brought together young people from the community to access information on entrepreneurship, career guidance, skills development, mentorship, and funding opportunities aimed at tackling youth unemployment.
Opening the session, Mrs. Faith Sibeko, reminded the participants that “Information is Power”, encouraging them to use knowledge as a tool to transform their lives and build successful futures. She challenged young people to change their mindset from relying solely on employment opportunities to becoming entrepreneurs and job creators. “Every challenge you face is shaping you into the leader your community needs. The seeds I plant today, in youth, women, and families will grow into forests of hope tomorrow. Keep with courage because your vision is bigger than the obstacles, and your light is stronger than the shadows. I’m not just building projects, I’m building futures.”
With youth employment remaining one of South Africa’s greatest challenges, the initiative highlighted the importance of innovation and self-employment as pathways to economic growth and sustainable livelihood. Participants also had the opportunity to register on the organization database, where they would receive updates on jobs placements, business funding opportunities, skills development programs and future youth empowerment initiatives.
One of the attendees, Mr. Paseka Moja, welcomed the initiative and praised the commitment shown by both the Foundation and NYDA: “I acknowledge that the Department is willing to help the youth to empower themselves because of job scarcity, and I love the fact that the youth came in numbers. I wish that the NYDA would invite similar entities as well as have a panel there.”
NYDA reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with community organizations that create meaningful opportunities for young people through entrepreneurship, skills development and economic participation.
Faith and Hope Foundation continues to champion youth development initiative such as this to demonstrate that collaboration between government, community organizations and stakeholders can unlock opportunities and inspire lasting change. The event concluded on a message of hope and determination, with participants encouraged to become innovators, leaders and employers within their communities.
