JAZZ IN THE LIGHTS 2026
The renowned event, the Jazz in the Lights Music Festival, returns to take place at the Johannesburg Zoo on 21st March 2026 where jazz aficionados will be able to delight in local and international performances.
The history of jazz in South Africa is a rich and diverse narrative that intertwines with the country’s complex social, political, and cultural landscape.
The day is sure to be a fun-filled day for the family as younger guests can interact with the zoo animals and amenities, while jazz and music lovers enjoy the latest offerings from new musicians while basking in nostalgic classics from the legends.

Jazz In the Lights Music Festival is a reimagined concept of the previously known Jazz on the Lake, the festival was developed to strike a balance between developmental acts and giving a platform to youth, established acts whilst also catering for legendary artists that ordinarily do no attract performance features. The curation of the artist line-up took into consideration a number gender balance, People living with disability & Geographical balance.
